Something unique about Sri Lankans is that we are a resilient nation. HOPE is a group of Sri Lankans that strongly believe this and are working together to make this unique character, the norm.
With the worst economic crisis since independence, currently taking place, people of our mother land are struggling tremendously; economically, physically and emotionally. While past events have groomed us to a lifestyle of survival, there is still HOPE that we Sri Lankans can stand up and come out of this wretched crisis.
The HOPE team does not just want to bring about physical change, but also bring about a changed mindset, that we have what it takes to not just survive this crisis, but to thrive. For this, we need to be aware of the potential we have within us, understand that each person is gifted differently and work together with all our heart, soul and mind, believing that there is HOPE ,not just for today, but for generations to come
Team HOPE will give special attention to women and children
Women have a strong sense of endurance and will power, having a great impact in the lives of children, especially in one’s own home front. Hence, they will be a key group to influence, in order to carry that changed mindset for generations to come.
Children have the mindset and capacity to learn. Therefore, it is paramount that we feed in a positive mindset and a ‘can do’ attitude, while they are in a stage of cognitive development.
To see this vision for Sri Lanka come true, it is important for us to come together and start this journey today! It all starts with what you can offer to the table and that’s more than enough to make Sri Lanka a hopeful nation.
Women empowerment workshops, education in human values for kids, support towards education and extra curricular activities to excel in gifted talents, are some keys things team HOPE will focus on.
If you had read this far, we believe you too have a passion for this nation. If you would like to partner with us and support us in any way, reach out and let’s make this journey through.
Once a great writer said, “We receive true happiness not by acquiring, but by giving what we have.”
Let us be the HOPE to this nation!
